The Making Months

The "Making Months" are here. The markets have already closed are soon winding up with The Wet approaching. The Art Trail is finished, so us "crafties" are starting to get their xmas wares in order. YES Xmas!

Here are some hand printed/ painted lino cut designs. "Charlie" is his name, a proud and regal Red-tailed Black Cockatoo. These sell for $25 each. Kids sizes from 1-6. I have another design or 2 on the go so stay tuned.

Theses will be available at the 1st Craft Fair down at the Waterfront on Sunday 22nd Nov, followed by a stall at Marrara the following weekend. If you miss the craft fairs don't worry, we are having a DAT (Darwin Art Trail) XMAS. I am currently painting for this so there will be some originals for sale too. This will be on Sunday 13th Dec I think.

Kids Workshops

This week I am commencing KIDS WORKSHOPS at Bird House Studio for the first time. I am keeping them small (no more than 5 in a group.) This way each student has their own work station in my studio and I can give more attention to each student.

I am setting these workshops up as a bit of an bush retreat experience. Coming in early for the 1st session we wander our Land for Wildlife property and look and listen for birds, sketching what we see. We develop these drawings in to paintings with a demonstration of how to build/layer your canvas and showing them various painting effects to add interest/ texture to your scene. All works are signed by the student and I string them so they can take home to hang on your wall.

* I have been invited to be a part of the Darwin Art Trail this year. Yes yes yes. You will be able to visit my new studio and buy direct on the 3rd Sun of every month from May-Sept. Open 10am -4pm. Specific dates: Sun 17 May, Sun 21 June, Sun 19 July, Sun 16 Aug, Sun 20 Sept.

* I am participating in TERRITORY MADE. This is a pop up market at the beautiful Botanical Gardens once a month. 10am -4pm. Dates are: Sun 24 May, Sun 14 June, Sun 19th July, Sun 16 Aug, Sun 13 Sept.
* I can't attend the July & Aug one as it clashes with the Darwin Art Trail.

* I will also be attending the Tactile Arts Craft Fairs. The 1st one is at The Waterfront Sun 10 May 10am-3pm. Marrara Xmas Craft Fair is also one my hit list.

* At the end of the year November I will have my solo show "Free Range" at Paul Johnstone Gallery.

* In between craft fairs and exhibitions you can buy my art at these distribution outlets in Darwin:

Term 1 was spent at Larakeyah Primary School doing painting classes in their after school program. Gee it was FUN and such a great bunch of kids! : )

Geraldine with Chloe who is sporting one of my hand printed lino cut TShirt designs "Charlie, the Red Tailed Black Cockatoo" Hot off the press : ) This is the 1st time I have seen one being worn so needless to say I am stoked!
